Time clock #

Introduction #

The time clock system is used to create a record if an operator is “clocked-in” or “clocked-out” of the place of work. When clocking in or out the user can choose a clock code, e.g. “Lunch”. The list of operators is set in the Factory set up dashboard. The list of clock codes is set up in system settings.

Note that the clock in and clockout times are a separate register for time being recorded to work orders. So an operator can be clocked in without any time being written to a work order. It is however possible to compare the time clocked in with the total time booked to work orders on a certain day using an excel report. It is not possible to book time to work orders if the operator is not clocked in. (All operators are in by default). Also when a user clocks out it will automatically stop a timer that the operator has running to a work order.  Alternatively to this screen, It is possible to use barcode readers for clock-in and clock-out on the work cell screen..

Setting up time clock features #

Make sure that the list of operators is created (as for work hour collection to work orders).

In company settings, set up the list of clock codes that will be used. These can include such things as “Lunch”, “Holiday” so that when a user clocks out, the reason can be reported.

PIN codes are optional for operators. If a PIN code is specified, then the operator needs to enter it each time they clock in or clock out.

Using the time clock #

The time clock is accessed from the Time clock link on the Production menu section. Alternatively time clock data can be entered using barcode commands from the “Queue at work cell” screen described under routing.

Note that there are two user roles relating to time clock usage. Time clock manager role allows entered time clock data to be edited, and a view seen of all persons. The normal time clock role only allows data entry.

Management view of the time clock #

This screen is also accessed from the Production – Work time menu. The appropriate user right is needed to access it.

The management view also shows to which work order an operator is currently booking their time.

Selecting an operator takes to a screen where that persons historical record can be edited.

Reporting clock times #

Various reports are available to report clocked time. It is also possible to compare clocked time with booked time to work orders.
